On July 31, 2024, the Deputy Dean for Physical Resources and Landscape, the Head of the Faculty of Forestry Secretariat, and the Director of the Forestry Research Center, in collaboration with the head of Huai Yang Subdistrict, the village head, staff from Ban Noen Din Daeng Health Promotion Hospital, and local residents of Huai Yang Subdistrict, Thap Sakae District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, planted trees as part of Kasetsart University’s Carbon Neutrality Policy Forest Restoration Project.

This project took place at the Had Wangorn Forestry Research and Student Training Station, where a mix of slow- and fast-growing trees were planted, including Dipterocarpus alatus, Shorea roxburghii, Hopea odorata, Afzelia xylocarpa, Xylia xylocarpa, Dalbergia cochinchinensis, Shorea obtusa. Trees were carefully planted at a spacing of 4×4 meters across 10 rai (approximately 4 acres). This initiative not only contributes to carbon sequestration efforts at Kasetsart University but also expands green spaces in Huai Yang and serves as an educational model for forest restoration.
